Why Coaching

Initially created to support business men and C-suite executives, coaching has been a profession for several decades and is now available to everyone. Today, with 68% of U.S. employees not engaged or actively disengaged at work according to a recent Gallup poll, and many others transitioning to new careers, starting businesses or pursuing passion projects, coaches continue to provide tremendous value to their clients in the forms of improved clarity, accountability around goals and most importantly, results—both financial and otherwise.

Here are some benefits reported by individuals who have hired coaches:

  • Improved overall health and wellness

  • Reconnection with their passions

  • Stronger personal and professional relationships

  • Improved work performance

  • Discovery of new possibilities for their lives through entrepreneurship and the building of their vision

  • Growth and profitability in their existing businesses

  • Start and completion of passion projects

  • Finding new, healthier ways to process pain and heal

One of my favorite articles on the topic was published by CBS News in 2011 and you can read more about the Top 10 Professional Life Coaching Myths on their site; the article highlights studies that have attempted to quantify your return on this investment (ROI) and it is well worth the read before you select your coach.
